At New Dimension Eye Care the health and overall well-being of our patients and staff are our highest priority. We have put strict protocols and procedures in place to keep all of you safe and are following all provincial public health guidelines.  We kindly request all of our patients to review our clinic protocols listed below.

NOTE: For the safety of our patients and staff, please refrain from booking an appointment with us if you are experiencing any COVID-19 related symptoms, if you have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been in contact with anyone that has tested positive in the last 14 days. In these cases we recommend that you call tele-health at 1-866-797-0000 or go to your nearest Emergency Department for assistance.

We are grateful to have such a supportive and warm community and ask that you bear with us as we take the necessary precautions to protect you and our staff.

From all of us at New Dimension Eye Care, we wish you and your family good health and safety during this time and we truly look forward to welcoming you into our clinic and serving all of your eye-health and eye-wear needs!

Sincerely,

Dr. Kanji, Dr. Moulitharan, & the staff at New Dimension Eye Care

Clinic Protocols

Booking your Appointment:

1) All eye care services including frame selection and dispensing will be by appointment only and will be scheduled with enough time to thoroughly disinfect all equipment and high-touch surfaces before and after each appointment. Walk ins will not be permitted at this time, in order to ensure physical distancing.

  • Appointments can be booked via telephone at 905-852-7700 or by email at info@newdimensioneye.ca.

  • Our online booking system is also available on the homepage of our website.

2) COVID-19 symptom screeners will be conducted at the time of appointment booking as well as upon arrival at New Dimension Eye Care (NDEC).

3) Virtual tele-optometry consultations will continue to be available wherever possible to minimize the number of people entering the clinic.

Prepping for your Appointment:

1) All patients and staff are required to wear a mask before entering NDEC.

  • Note: If you do not have a mask, a supply of disposable masks will be available at NDEC.

2) For those patients who have private health insurance, we encourage you to contact your insurance provider before your appointment to be aware of your eligibility and coverage (i.e., for eye exam, glasses & contact lenses), in order to reduce your wait time in the clinic.

3) Patients are requested to attend appointments on their own to limit the number of people in the office at one time (if a patient is a minor or requires assistance or a translator, one person may accompany them to their appointment).

4) Patients will only be permitted to enter NDEC at their scheduled appointment time. If patients arrive early, we ask that they remain in their car and call us at 905-852-7700 to inquire as to whether our staff is ready to accommodate them.

What to expect at NDEC:

1) Patients must sanitize their hands upon entering NDEC. Hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the clinic.

2) COVID-19 symptom screeners will be conducted upon arrival at New Dimension Eye Care (NDEC).

3) Dr. Kanji, Dr. Moulitharan, and the staff at NDEC will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when interacting with patients (e.g., gloves, masks, face shields, etc).

4) Plexiglass barriers have been installed in both the reception and optical areas and breath shields have been added to equipment for an additional safety barrier.

5) Eyewear fitting (by appointment only or alongside routine eye exam):

  • Eyewear can only be accessed with the assistance of a stylist or Optometry Assistant and will be placed in trays for patients to try on at a designated try-on station.

  • All eyewear will be disinfected after each handling.

6) Contactless payment is preferred (e.g., debit and credit).

7) Curb-side pick-up and at-home delivery options will continue to be available for various products including contact lenses, lid hygiene and dry eye products as well as Omega 3 supplements.
